Research & Development

In this Identities project, I've been doing some reseaches on certain areas, for example: Buildings, Trees, chair , coffee table, lights, human bodies, figures, hair styles, and costume.

The link below is about different styles of building in the world. it has load of images. I am going to put some of it into my area, to make myenvironment more modern and new.

The one above is a tutorial link, it does help alot. If any of you find it is hard to work on 3ds max and not sure where to start it, it will give you some stages to begin.

To start create my avater, I have begin to start taking photos of myself with different view points.

Modeling

This morning, I have visited the 3d studio max modeling site (tutorials), I have found out more about how to create an complicate object. The site is quite useful. It shows all the steps and teach you how to begin and create the objects. Also there is some video shows you steps by steps, which is quite useful and organised.
I will going to follow the steps to make my own building and stuffs, which I hope it gonna be success.

Diary of Avatar ( 3rd days)

These pictures are I made a screenshot when I was playing vside yesterday. I found out there are some places existed. Thats why I want to make some screenshots and show to peoples. Everytimes when I play the vside, I have keep thinking of my own avaters, and environments. Also I have spent more than 5 hours on sketches last night. This helps out what I need to do for futher developments.

Diary of Avatar (2nd day)

Today is my second days played on vside. I have spent more than 4 hours on it , because I have met some new friends, it makes me to stay longer on the program. Also I have walked around and looked at the environment more deeply. For example, I have realised they have used 2D pictures for the shop cover, I didn't recognise it until I looked closely. The other things I interested are the sea, it is a 3D model. The colours are quite realistic, it is not just a "flat blue blocks" It is actual an uneven surfaces, which makes it looks much better.

The picture on the left: Is the only place which allows you sit in the water and chat,etc..

I like this place because you can feel really calm. This is the special of the environment. I'm thinking to make one for my own environment.

You can also sit on the chair by clicking the allow above the chair.

you could also ask your friends to walk around, and there is a list of different dance. you could do in the place.

Vside

I have just setted up my avater in a web site called Vside. I have tried a few times on secondlife, but it isn't working, I was waiting for the confirmation email few days, still haven't recieve it, so I have decided to move on....

But anyways, the vside was absolutely amazing. I was experienced alot from it.Although just spent few hours in it. It helps me start to think more deeply for my environment. This also helps me to think about the second project, thats how to interactive with things.

Gantt Chart

I have made my own Grantt Chart for Identities project. I found it quites useful. It suchs like a "Diary" or Calendar to show when is my project finish.

It does help me alot, to improve my management for my project, so I don't waste any time, to produce nothing.

Identities Project ( planning )

The print screen - is the basic planning of Identity.

I will produce more drawing in sketch book or may be upload them later on.

But overall, Ive planned to have a city life for the background.

New Technologies

I think this "moveable projected display" is going to be use in the future, I believe most people will own this,just like every house of family have tv or computer, I think this is quite useful and easy to use, could be reduce the harm of the environment. For example: reduce the waste of people, plastic,etc...

This piece of technology quites easy to carry around, it could be use for enlarge picture like Map, or tool for children learning. It could be use for drawing, or search information, just like a laptop.
Also this could be use in a "TOMTOM" where to show locations, or any traffic congestions.

Be honest, I think if they still develop the equipment, it could be like a tool for transfer message, there could be a 3d image comes out, or even any large images could be show to people who have that.




The video above is another idea of new technology which could be exist in the future. I think it could be replace the TVs, instead of every households have a "box" at home, it could now be a just a projector to show images, or video.
Also people don't need to go to cinema, they could just staying at home and watch movie.

This animation I have found it by accident. I can't remember where I found it or where did it come out. haha, But anyways, I found this animation could help my identity project.

I like the character walking along to the street, the 3d buildings are quite realistic.

The Matrix Reloaded..

This film always appearing in my mind, I won't forget this movie. The movie's concept, character's images I quite like it.Especially, the way the editor used slow motion to show the actions.

Designing Brand Identity

This book has introduced 3 steps which shows how a company starts create a logo, and then get it through to reseach and development.

After I read this book, I recognised the best brand identity systems are memorable, authentic, meaningful, differentiated , sustainable , flexible and have value.

The process of create a logo

1. Shape
2. Colour
3. Content

I think this stages could be apply to any design creating, where you have basic information of the design and then add details and information to make it more successful.

Also this book has showed many of different type of logos, which tells readers how those logo able to tell its identity, the purpose and meaning of its company.

This book is not just about logos, it also about marketing and developments. I have learnt most of the market research tools, this could help me to increase my knowledges of marketing, so I could be more involve to the business working after graduated.

Web design.

I like this web site's design.. I like the layout which uses a 3d logo as the cover of web page.
Inside of the page, have clear layout which makes people easy to search.
The design is quite attractive. The colours used are quite suitable.
